Stay at home mom!

Well, unfortunately the poor economy took it's toll on us, because the construction company I worked for ran out of work, and therefore, I no longer work there as of the end of December.

Although this isn't ideal for us, it has been kind of nice being able to get a taste of what it will be like to be a stay at home mom, which is such an awesome job.

I love being able to have more time and energy to work on our house, fixing healthy meals, budgeting and especially taking care of Carter. We have been having so much fun together. He's such a great kid. I appreciate him so much more now, and don't get frustrated with him as easily now. I'm really glad I've been able to have a little time to enjoy Carter at this age rather than have it fly by because I'm too busy and realize too late that his fun experiences went by unnoticed.

Also, this time has helped me not get so discouraged as a wife and mom. When I was working full time, I was always frustrated because I just couldn't do everything at 100% which made me a failure at everything. I kept telling myself I needed to find more time and more energy somehow. It had to be possible because so many people are successful. Of course, all this thinking ever did was cause me to get sick every few weeks, which would put me further behind my self-imposed perfection schedule and this cycle continued.

Well, even though I still stress a little at the need to find a new job, taking care of myself, my home and my family has finally become more doable.

Congrats on getting to stay home. Let us know if there is anything we can do. P.S. I noticed we aren't on your family list:( Hope to see you tomorrow at my Scentsy party. It's been too long!!

Just remember no one does it all. Everyone has to compensate somewhere. We get the most down on ourselves when we compare our weaknesses with other's strengths and our trials with other's blessings. From what I've seen you do a great job!

I've heard JetBlue airlines has many work from home positions booking flights and doing customer service. Take care!

Everything happens for a reason. I am so glad you are at home. It makes me sad that you were feeling that way. I am sure I would have felt the same in your shoes. Time does fly by with kids and you can never get it back! They don't care about money, they just want us.

I think it's great you get a break from work and a chance to relax and enjoy yourself and carter more. Im sure you will find a great new job that is better than the last and it will all have been a great change of events.

I don't understand how you even did it, I can't even get out of bed before 11 and I get down on myself when I didn't do one productive thing that day besides work a 4 hour shift lol maybe this is why we dont have kids yet! I would feel like wonder women if I was accomplishing half of what you've been everyday. It's a well deserved break and I'm not happy that it's not permanent.

That's great, Cindy. I'm so glad you feel relaxed and happy. That's the best kind of mama any kid could ask for.

Boy do I know what that's like!!!! Honestly NO ONE can do it all! People who 'do' will even admit it. Something has got to give. Either your a great employee OR a great Mom -There is the other - you could be crappy at both. Working nights has help us TONS! I still feel guilty tho when I'm exhausted, but better then I did before. My neighbor works 40 hrs a wk (she really supports her family) and she's gone from 1:30am -7:30am it works for them. I LOVE YOU! you can only do what's right for you.
