Labor day weekend came and went without much hooplah, which is just fine by me. Yesterday was also the first time since Carter was born that we didn't have somebody over at our place in one capacity or another. Cindy's parents were here and her mom stayed with us for the first bit and my parents were here with my mom staying with us until Sunday. Having them around was a HUGE help and without them, I can honestly say that I would be totally sleep deprived by now and have less of a clue on how to raise a child. The only downside was that we didn't have much time to ourselves. In the end, the trade-off was definitely worth it, but knowing yesterday that the house was ours again was a great feeling; even if it was spent doing very, very little.

Here's today's cute Carter picture(s):

There's a catch to the photos which is obvious to me but other people, including my family, didn't notice- which I find kinda odd. I suppose I could make this some interactive game where I don't tell you what I'm referring to for a few days and you could all post fun comments trying to guess.

I'm not going to cause the suspense would be unbearable for some. Instead, I'll just say that the picture on the left is Carter and the picture on the right isn't Carter. It's me when I was a few months old. I can kinda see the resemblance but I don't think it's fair to curse my son to look like me just yet- so maybe I'm in denial.

And lastly, Cindy is an amazing mother. I still don't understand how she had an 8 pound baby a month ago, pretty much gave up sleep since then, but still looks so amazing and is so wonderful to be around. I'm a lucky guy and here's a picture to prove it.

I'm bugging her to get on here and post something and I think she may actually get to it this week... but don't quote me on it.

That's a fun picture (I get 2 points for recognizing the photo on the right though).

My boss at work (Jenn)said that it isn't fair that Cindy looks so pretty in her post-birth photos at the hospital :)

A few things...

Chris, I really do think Carter looks like you from the very first time I saw his picture, so it is fun to see your baby pic too.

And also, Cindy you really do look great. Isn't being a Mom beyond words amazing??

Can't wait to see that kid, hope we can get out there before he gets too big. Any idea when the blessing will be yet?

Cindy does look great and she's handling sleepless nights quite well it seems! I could tell something was a little fishy with 2 baby pictures and I figured out it was Chris before reading on. So 5 points for me Sam b/c I've never seen Chris' baby pics before!

Well....Chris showed me the pics at his house and I totally thought they were the same baby. So I guess I'm the only one that got freaked out! And that's such a good picture of Cindy! We chopped her hair off everyone so thanks for noticing! I guess we'll just have to shave her next time.

I had a feeling that when I first saw the pictures one was you, and one was Carter. They look pretty close, almost too close. I guess you are definetly the father so you can cancel the DNA test...

Good to see yall are enjoying yourselves.

Chris -- I thought they were both Carter, but I came back and showed Cebre and Sarah (Lindstrom) and they could tell -- Cebre even actually read the whole passage to learn about it whereas I immediately skipped to the part about Cindy :)

Cindy -- You do look great! I need to call you. I know I said I would before, but maybe I'll get your number memorized in my head so I can call at every whim.

One thing that helped me with my sleep deprivity last time was looking at my older children and realizing that those sleepless nights truly don't last forever.

But since you don't have any older kids yet, I guess you'll just have to look at each other for the reminder.....or Cebre says you can write to her (not sure what that means -- Oh! She said "rent" -- that makes more sense~!)

All I can say is "GRRRRRR!!!!!" -- after finally remembering my password, this blog site just erased my lovingly long comment!!!

I'll call you!

P.S. (I never would have thought there were 2 different pictures in a million years -- I was skipping all the words down to the part about Cindy -- BUT when I showed it to Cebre and Sarah Lindstrom, they spotted it, then read on and confirmed it. So I guess they get 2 points like Sam!)

Ohhhhhhh -- I guess my posts are posting and I just didn't read the top (Cebre read it to me) -- how embarrassing!
