Carter eats, sleeps, poops, and repeats. This routine cycles itself every 2-4 hours and has been doing so for almost 3 weeks. I'm tired and Cindy's more tired, but even with Carter being largely responsible for most of this exhaustion, our waking time is still spent staring at him.
That picture is right after bath-time with Carter. This was his first time without the "hospital recommended" sponge bath to protect his umbilical cord stump. we were told to expect 2-3 weeks for it to fall off. He waited 4 days. So- we bathed him and stared at him the whole time. Didn't even bother to look towards the camera either- all eyes were/are on him. I've tried figuring out what I'm looking at when I stare at him, but I really can't describe it. Carter's focusing more so now it feels like he's actually looking back at me but it wouldn't matter either way.
I thought it was just a Mom/Dad thing... but after going through pictures tonight, I've notice a bit of a trend:

so sweet...... enjoy him!
I'm so excited for you guys. You are such great parents-I can tell. It definately gets better-you will soon see a light at the end of the tunnel. :) Or should I say you won't see a light because you will finally be sleeping.Ha ha ha ha.
Oh, I love those pictures. It's fun to see how much he's changed even since I saw him. And i like that one of me and him when we're all cuddled up, it's way cute.
Oh my he is cute! I wish we still lived there so I could hold him and stare at him. :(
Hope everything is going well...Cindy you look great!!
Yay for Carter! You should put the one up of you as a baby too, haha freak everyone out.
Great photo. So let's see, Carter eats, sleeps, poops, and repeats. This is the routine of how one's life starts, and eventually, ends. In diapers.
I remember always staring at Hannah like that, well actually I still do that alot, so I guess it still hasn't changed.
Time flies, so enjoy every moment, and every step of his growth and development, because even though each progression is exciting, it's also sad, because they become more and more independant, until one day they become a teenager and know everything and need no one.
Congratulation Chris and Cindy you're little one is adorable! I found your blog through the Coons and now I'm glad to keep updated w/ your life...now I won't have to use the 'peeping tom' method! ;) Glad you're doing well and good luck w/ the sleepless nights- I remember those all too well!
Its all of the above.
p.s I second what Shane said. Hannah is so independent now so I find myself almost HOPING she gets a littly sicky or falls down and bumps her head because then she NEEDS me for a change! LOL and Shane and I still stare at her all the time.
Chris I had the CRAZIEST dream last night, it was so real too.
So I heard my cell phone ring but it was in the other room, so I went running for it, by the time I reached my phone it was too late it quit ringing, I checked to see who was calling me, and it was YOU.
So I quickly called you back, knowing in my head I would get your voice mail, then the CRAZIEST thing happened, YOU ANSWERED.
We REALLY had a conversation....
